about me.
My name is Aimee Green, I am an aspiring artist and I wanted to create a website portfolio with a collection of my works so far. I am currently a year 11 student and am living in Northern Rivers, NSW, Australia..
I have been creating Art since I was very young. Throughout the years I began to practice painting landscapes. Last year (April 2022) we held a fundraiser at my school where the year 10 art students created artworks to raise money for flood affected residents. I painted the first version of my artwork named 'Love Amongst Tragedy.'
My painting raised 500 hundred dollars alone for the floods. In July of 2022 I entered the Wollumbin Youth Art Award, where the finalists would have their artwork hung in the Murwillumbar art gallery. I decided I would make a second addition of 'Love Amongst Tragedy' and enter it into the competition.
I personally like my second
version better. My painting
got into the finalists.
I think I made a significant
achievement for myself. For
the future I plan to study
art further and create some
memorable pieces.
This work was finished in July of 2022, for the medium I used acrylics, and the canvas size was 51cm x 41cm.

This piece is one of Mullumbimby’s most noticeable landmarks, which stands for all to see.
The painting focuses on the ‘LOVE’ sign, situated in front of Mount Chincogan, the vast countryside and captivating mountains.
The symbolism of the ‘LOVE’ sign represents a sense of serenity and comfort while surrounded by the unimaginable disaster that took this town and many others.
The word ‘LOVE,’ amidst the flooding, carries with it the enormous amount of Love, support, generosity and compassion abundant in the community during this time.
